One Step Algebraic Equations Color by Number

6th grade math students love this engaging, self-checking one-step algebraic equations color by number to help them practice solving equations.

Students solve 20 one step algebraic equations, self-check, and then color in this solving algebraic equations color by number with both print and digital versions!

  • Students will immediately know whether or not they solved correctly – if their answer is incorrect, they won’t find it on the coloring sheet:-)

Problems require students to:

  • Solve one-step equations using all operations

This easy-prep one-step algebraic equations resource includes:

1) Two Print versions

Version A:

  • Problem sheet with 20 questions
  • Coloring sheet

Version B:

  • Problem sheet with 20 questions (different from Version A)
  • Coloring sheet: same pattern as Version A – different colors

2) One Google Slides version

  • SAME problems and coloring as print Version A
  • Students type their answers in the answer boxes
  • Students use the ‘Fill color’ bucket to color the shapes
  • Questions are not editable (they are part of the background) but the shapes and numbers in the pattern ARE movable/editable.
  • Link to Google Slides version is in the PDF download.

3) A coloring page with no numbers, for students to color their own way, for fun:-)

What teachers are saying about this resource:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“Loved this! I left this for my students one day when they had a sub. They love to work in groups and work as they socialize and color. They all turned out really nice, and I love hanging up their work around the room and in the hall!”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“My students enjoyed this activity as they like creating artwork. The problems were more than sufficient for a review of solving one step equations. I liked that there are two versions available, plus a blank copy of the design. My students who finished early were able to create their own designs on the blank copies, which they quite enjoyed.”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“This resource is very well made and the kids really enjoy the challenge. I would sometimes have them work with a partner the do the math and then have their own sheet to color. Great resource!”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“I loved this resource for my students! They were highly engaged!”
